Hoping this finds you in the strong grace of our Lord, I hope and pray that you can see by faith how good He is. Take a moment and read Psalm 103. We are going to focus on the first 5 verses. All 22 verses will help you to focus no matter where you are. Hear the Word of the Lord, “Bless the LORD , O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD , O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, sot that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Let us not forget Who we are serving and where we are going when our life here is done. God is good all the time, not just when we are in good economical, political, and relational situations. He is good not because of any other thing than who He is, He is God and He has never changed! That’s good news when you consider how things have changed in the last 50 years. If we let all the changes move us, we would become unstable. But the fact that God has never changed, we need to bless His Holy name for who He is, what He has done, and how faithful He will be in the years to come, for all eternity.

Christians need to be reminded that in Christ, all sin has been nailed to the cross. As we remember this and look at the surroundings of a world that is on fire with hopelessness, God’s people need to “Bless the Lord.” Our blessing His Holy name is not based upon how good things are right now, but upon His eternal unchanging goodness! How can God’s people not “bless the Lord.” Listen to Thomas Watson,  “Would it not be an encouragement to a subject, to hear his prince say to him, ‘You will honor and please me very much, if you will go to yonder mine of gold, and dig as much gold for yourself as you can carry away?’” So, for God to say, “Go to the ordinances, get as much grace as you can, dig out as much salvation as you can; and the more happiness you have, the more I shall count Myself glorified!”

Bless God’s name, ” Who forgives all your iniquities.” Bless God’s name, “Who heals all your diseases.” Bless God’s name, “Who redeems your life from destruction.” Bless God’s name, “Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.” Bless God’s name, “Who satisfies your mouth with good things, sot that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” On this side of an empty tomb,we Bless God’s name because in and through Christ we are saved and sealed unto the day of redemption. In closing, just think of how many times God’s name has been taken in vain. And in the world we live in, God’s name is to be praised, “From the rising of the sun till the going down, Bless His Holy Name!”

God is Good!
